A sure sign of spring in the Black Hills

Bald Eagle

Every year about this time Bald Eagles come to the Black Hills in search of food. They stay as long as there is plenty of water, but as spring turns into summer and the seasonal creeks dry up, many of them move on. They are easy to spot, but are shy and if you try to get close, they will fly to somewhere more secluded.
